new challenge for february and new format

Hello friends - here is our new challenge for this month - and the challenge is wide open to interpretation and media.  The challenge is:

ANYTHING GOES!!!

That's right - you can scrapbook, make a card, art journal (or other mixed media) ANYTHING on ANY subject.

Our new format begins this month, and that format is a once-a-month challenge that will run the full-length of the month.  It will vary from prompts, to sketches, to music, to colour.  As always we encourage you to scrap about yourself and tell your story whenever you can.  You may enter your work even when the subject is not YOU, so don't feel inhibited by that suggestion.

Last year presented a few challenges for me that made it difficult to keep up with the blog, and now that everything has come back to normal, I'd like to concentrate on the blog with a challenge that you can work on all month.

I'd also like to thank the team for their incredible kindness and patience. These are lovely and talented ladies, and I very much appreciate them.

You are always welcome to incorporate our challenges with any other challenge, although it is difficult to use two sketches for inspiration. We welcome entries that are not traditional scrapbooking.  Please share your creativity in whatever format you love to express yourself with. I love to art journal, and have shared a piece of my work this month for the challenge.

Here is some inspiration from our team:

What's your take on the challenge - can't wait to see it !!

15 february 2014 sketch challenge

More excitement - our first sketch challenge since we've re-opened!!!  We hope you'll  come visit and play along. No theme required - just interpret the sketch as you like, let others know about us and link back to our blog. You are welcome to combine our sketch with other non-sketch challenges.  You're not restricted to a scrapbook layout in your interpretation of the sketch - you may art journal, make a card, or make a mixed media canvas.

Our sponsor is Scrapbook Fantasies, owned by design team member Alicia Redshaw, who will give a beautiful pack of ribbons to a randomly drawn participant.  We will feature our favourite layouts early in March on the blog.  We are always looking for guest designers, and often choose from amongst participants.

Fun fact: Two of our designers are mother and daughter!! Margaret Walz is the mother of Alicia Redshaw - we are so proud to have mother and daughter designers on our team!! Be sure to click their links and visit their work on their blogs!

Here is our sketch for this month.  You have until the end of February to upload your interpretation of it.

Can't wait to see what you create!!!!

1 june 2013 prompt challenge - a proposal for you!!!

This month's prompt is:

How did your spouse propose to you? Where? How did you propose to your spouse? If this has never happened to you ‐ how did you dream it would? Or did you ever want that to happen to you?

Some of our ladies had some difficulty with this prompt, and we invite you to interpret the general theme in the way you would like to tell this story!!! You never have to interpret our challenges absolutely literally!!

Will be back soon!!!!

1 march 2013 scrapbooking challenge

Now here's a thoughtful and fun challenge:

What is on your "bucket list" - your list of items that you want to accomplish before you "kick the bucket".  If you have already made a layout on this subject and your list has not been updated - maybe you'd like to scrap about an item from your first list that you have already accomplished or that you want to elaborate on.

Here's what our design team provided for this theme:

Will be back soon!!!

Busy creating

Woo-freaking-hoo!  I was the lucky recipient of one of these prize packs when my name was drawn at another challenge site (Once Upon a Sketch).   It was a beautiful assortment of lovely ribbons.

Our challenge this month is to scrap about:
What will be your new year's resolution this year. What do you wish you could resolve and stick to???

If you have not made a resolution for this year, scrap about your resolution from another year. Were you successful? Would you do it again??

Here are some awesome inspirational interpretations of this theme from our design team.

You have until Jan 31st at 10 pm EST to post your interpretation of this challenge.
