So happy to be able to properly introduce our new members of our design team!!! The rest of the design team and I are so happy to be working with you girls - looking forward to having a blast!!!
My name is Lindy Gillespie and live in Brisbane Qld Australia.I have been scrapbooking since 2004, from the first moment i came across and bricks and mortar store i've been hooked.
Since starting scrapbooking I have been on numerous Design and Creative Teams, and been lucky enough to be published numerous times in Australian and New Zealand mags.
The current DT and Ct's i'm on at the moment are The Color Room, White with 1,Kraft It Up, Scrap The Boys and Beyond the Door Challenge.and The Color Room.
I have always been creative and over the years have done many crafts, i find inspiration from many daily events (catalogues, fashion) and like to think i inspire others to create beautiful work. I like to use the old with the new techniques when designing a layout, as the saying goes whats old is new again.
My style is ever evolving and use mainly white cardstock with lots of misting and masking and layers.
I'm thrilled to be designing at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge along with some very talented ladies and look forward to all the inspiration they can create.
Hi! I’m Chiqui Gutierrez from the tropical islands of the Philippines. I’m a Pediatrician by profession but a certified scrapaholic during my free time. I’ve been scrapping for the past 4 and half years and still very much addicted to this hobby. I’m married to Herbert, who fortunately loves to take photos. We have 2 daughters, aged 9 and 5 who are the subject of my layouts most of the time. We also love to travel so I do a lot of travel layouts too.
I’m not sure if I have a particular style but I love shabby chic layouts as well as clean and simple ones. Having two girls, my layouts tend to be girly. I love layering, hand cutting, & clustering of embellishments.
I’m so excited to be on the design team and I hope I’ll be able to inspire you as much as others have inspired me.
My name is Mieke Nagtegaal and I live in the middle of the Netherlands. Married to Ger and we have 2 teenagers.
I started scrapping for over 9 years now and still loving it. I love vintage, paints and mists and hooked on Distress Ink and paper!
Next to my scrapping I'm working part-time at the local hospital and taking lessons in counseling after I reached my second Reiki level.
Love to read, shop, listen to music and cook. A full life it is!
I'm so excited to be on this team I hope we can make it special for you and give you lots of inspiration.
One afternoon when I was little, I was sitting on our back steps in the hot sun, basking. The whole summer stretched in front of me and I was enjoying the warmth of the sun and the lack of school. I remember idly trying to remember what I had done the morning before. My brain was blank. I tried to recall earlier that day and again, it was blank. Panic struck at how easily memories could slip from my brain and be gone forever.
I promised myself that I would try to remember each and every moment of every day not realizing that it was an impossible task. I did achieve remembering that one moment of panic however when the concept of time and its passage struck home.
Scrapbooking for me is like a book mark in my brain and soothes that panic. One glance at some journaling or a few photos and I’ve slipped back to that time and can enjoy the essence of the day. You can’t recall every moment of course, that is impossible and also dreary.
I tend to scrapbook photos from recent activities so my journaling is fresh but I am also enjoying jumping back in time and making pages from when I was younger. One hopes they make their pages for the next generation, but really I have no way of knowing who will be looking at them. Certainly the photos and the journaling are for my two kids, Lexi (age 11) and Luke (age 9) to enjoy, but the journey to making the page is all for me.
It’s the art of it all.
Blogging it takes it one step further and allows me to connect my art with the rest of the planet. Making pages and sharing them fulfills me in ways I never thought possible. I am overjoyed to start a new chapter in 2012 by being selected on my first design team with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.
