december 2015 guest designer ...

So happy to have Jane Howden as our guest designer this month - Jane plays along regularly, and we always enjoy her unique and creative takes on our challenges.

Jane Howden

Hi, I’m Jane.

I have been scrapping now for well over ten years using this wonderful craft as both my creative outlet and a way to preserve my family’s precious memories.   I have to admit my hobby has become somewhat of an obsession and now is a very large part of my life.  I scrap using both traditional paper and digital methods, mixing my pages equally amongst these two styles. I have recently been playing around with project life style pocket pages to document family travel – it is a great way to process a lot of photographs reasonably quickly.  My personal layout style has evolved over the years and while I will happily try a mix of varied techniques, I do tend to lean towards a clean, relatively simple style with heavy emphasis on white space.  I like to capture not only those special events in our lives but also everyday family moments.

I love participating in challenges as I like to stretch my creative imagination.  Thank you Anne for letting me join in with Another Freaking Scrapbook Challenge this month.

guest designer tone jensen ...

So honoured to have Tone Jensen as one of our guest designers this month :) - Tone's work always catches my eye, and completely captures my interest when I start to unravel all the layers and techniques she uses in her work.

My name is Tone K. Jensen and I live in Norway under 20 minutes drive north of the capital Oslo. I am 47 years old live with my husband and son (15 years old). I also have a stepdaughter (30 years old).

I've always taken pictures and put them in albums, but  I have been scrapping since 2004. The last two or three years I have also started making cards and I have relatively recently start with PL pages. I guess I am one of few that scrap everything and chronologically. But I love it, although I have only come to 2007 J (With PL everything goes much faster though).

Scrapping is my way to retrieve energy and relax.

I do not know if I have any special style and if I have I do not quite know what category it falls under. I'm very fond of using stencil and mist and make LO with layers.

Otherwise I use far too much time surfing around in the blogworld, but that's where I get inspiration.

Here is Tone's  interpretation of our challenge:

Thank you so much Tone for joining us this month. It has been wonderful working with you!!

Stay tuned to see winners of our challenges for September and October posted soon!!!

October 2015 challenge ...

Our challenge for the month of October is :

Start a layout and have it finished in exactly one hour or less - yes - exactly one hour or less from start to finish. This may be very freeing for some of us and frustrating for others. No going back afterward and tweaking it before you post it!!!

We welcome you to incorporate our challenges with any other challenge. Increase your chances and your visitors to your blog! Meet new friends from everywhere!

We also welcome scrapbook pages of any size, and also entries that are not traditional scrapbooking -  art journalling, painting, cards, mixed media, off-the-page work.   Why don't you to scrap about yourself so that your family/friends will enjoy knowing more about you.

This month's winner will be receiving some lovely die-cuts in the mail!!

mother/daughter guest designers september 2015 ...

So thrilled to have Karen B and her daughter Jasmine as guest designers for September :)

Hello!  I love playing along with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, so I was thrilled to be asked to join you as a guest designer this month.  A little about me:  My name is Karen, and I live in a quiet, semi-rural area of southeast Queensland, Australia, with my husband and daughter.  We share our property with our pet dog and an assortment of ducks and chickens.  My love of all things creative started when I was very young. For the past 10+ years I've been somewhat obsessed with scrapbooking, (although I still can't define "my style".). I enjoy camping and hiking, and I have a weakness for secondhand bookstores and quirky cafes.
My layout:  My layout is about Jasmine's first day of high school in 2013 - a new stage of life for her, but also a new beginning for me.  I have some hidden journalling on the back of the layout to record my thoughts as the parent of an almost-teenager, the milestones she has reached, and how she is growing up way too fast!
Jasmine:

Jasmine is 14 years old, and has always enjoyed making things.  In recent years she has been very busy at high school, where her favourite subjects are home economics and art.  She loves to try new things and that often means she has quite a number of unfinished projects tucked away somewhere!  She recently started her first part-time job, as a retail attendant at a fabric and craft store - how perfect is that?

Jasmine's layout:  One of Jasmine's Christmas presents last year was a book about Zentangling and a set of art pens.  She loves her new hobby and recently started experimenting with drawing on ceramics.

Loving your work ladies! You have brightened my day!

guest designer august 2015

We asked one of our faves from May to guest design for us this month.  Super happy she agreed to share her work with us this month for this feature :). She is always a favourite amongst our entries - love, love having her play along with us. Introducing:

My name is Sandy Ross and I live in Southern Ontario and I am married to a wonderful man who supports my scrapbooking hobby. We have three amazing grown children and two adorable grandsons. They are my inspiration for scrapbooking - to capture and cherish memories forever.

I’ve been crafty as long as I can remember, but seriously addicted to scrapbooking for the last six years. I also love to sew and quilting is my passion.

I can’t say I have a distinct style because I really like experimenting and trying new techniques. I love to follow sketches and I am on two design teams. ScrapMuch? & Stuck?! Sketches.

Thank you Anne and Another Freaking Scrapbook Challenge for having me as a guest designer!

Here is Sandy's beautiful interpretation for our challenge this month :).

Looks like Sandy is as creative a gardener as she is a scrapper :) - let's see what you can create for this month's challenge!
